Mosaic Box

This weekend I was in The Moving Selection: Part 2 when I came across this wooden box. The day before, my mom and I found a box full of tiles, like the ones you place on bathroom walls. That’s when I thought of this: tiles + glue + box = mosaic box!
Supplies: Wooden box or any other wooden surface you would like to mosaic, tiles and glue for wood.
First, I had to measure and see if the tiles fit on the box. The long side fit perfectly but the shorter side didn´t fit that well. All I had to do was separate the tiles a little more.
Then, I had decide what color combination and design I wanted to use. As you might have noticed from the vase project, I have a very strong affection for stripes. I decided to make as close as possible to a gradient effect with the colors I had.
Next, I applied small quantities of glue and spread it out with a paintbrush. I carefully placed the tiles and completed the bottom row of the first side.
I let it dry for about 30 minutes until I started the next row. This project is pretty straightforward: glue, place tiles, dry. When you complete the first side, move on to the next.
Soon enough, you will have a gorgeous mosaic box like this. I used it to keep all my Wii gadgets and games on top of the side table, since the box looks so presentable.

Happy crafting!
