Focus
In photography, focus is "the state of an optical image when it is distinct and clearly defined". Here are tips and tricks about focus to shoot the perfect pictures.
When the subject you want to capture is close up then you select the subject as your focal point, resulting in a blurred background effect. An iPhone will require you to tap the focus object.
You can try to capture the image from different angles, experimenting with dimensions and focus.
Notice how in this picture there is clever use of focus and black & white. This picture wouldn't be as interesting if the background were B&W and at the same time if it weren't blurred.
