Decorated Light Stch Covers
How about turning your plain and boring light switch cover into a fun and customized one?
Glitter
Supplies: light switch cover, liquid glue, glitter and paintbrush.
Apply a coat of glue onto the cover and pour your glitter as evenly as possible. When it is dry, revome excess glitter.
Apply a second coat of glue. If there are any spots without glitter, this is the time to fix that. Sprinkle glitter where necessary.
When that is dry, apply one or two other coats of glue to make sure you won´t have glitter falling all over the place.
Plaid
Supplies: light switch cover, 3 colors of acrylic paint, thin paintbrush, varnish, pencil and permanent marker.
Make the plaid design onto the cover with a pencil. If you need, use a print-out as a guide. Carefully paint the cover and, when its dry, use the permanent marker to make the details. Apply a coat of varnish to seal design.
Gradient
Supplies: light switch cover, at least 2 colors of acrylic paint, and varnish.
Using a sponge, dab your first color until you have painted about one third of the cover. Use the second color to do the same. To fill in the middle, dab both colors until you have a mixture of both. Then, add some dabs of blue on the green side and dabs of green on the blue side.
When it is dry, apply varnish to seal in design.
A great idea is to have matching covers for your outlets.
